Find emergency food

Use this page to choose the emergency food route that best matches your need in Leeds.

The original site includes several different food aid routes, so this redesign brings them together more clearly before you decide where to go.

How to use this page

1

Check details first

Before travelling, check the location, contact details, opening times, eligibility and whether a referral route is needed.

2

Choose the right route

Food Banks, Drop Ins, Pantries and Street Outreach do not all work in the same way.

3

Then check wider support

If food need links to debt, benefits or health problems, go to Advice & Support after checking emergency food first.

Main emergency route

Food Banks

This is the main emergency food route in the redesign. Use it to find food bank details, opening times, contact information and referral information.

Why this comes first

On the original site, users can see several different kinds of food support quite quickly. That gives choice, but it can also create hesitation.

This redesign makes Food Banks the main starting route because it is the clearest emergency food pathway for most users trying to complete the core task.

Food Drop Ins
The original site lists Food Drop Ins separately from food banks. These are often based around meals, refreshments or drop-in support rather than the standard food parcel route.
Food Pantries
Food pantries are more about regular lower-cost food access than a standard emergency parcel. On the original site, they are described as a way to pay a small weekly amount for a larger amount of fresh food.
Street Outreach
Street Outreach is listed separately on the original site for people who need this specific kind of support linked to rough sleeping, homelessness or street-based need.
Geographical map
The original emergency food page also includes a map showing provision across Leeds. In this redesign, the routes are clarified first so users do not need to rely only on a large map to work out where to begin.

Need wider support as well? Go to Advice & Support. Still unsure which route is right? Use the Contact page as the final fallback.
